Allen visits Braunschweig, Germany, where he has a team that is
part of his org. The team is responsible for Bench Device
Characterization and works for a manager that reports into
Allen.
Allen took a day off and visited Berlin. Berlin is an
entirely different place and re-developed since Allen studied
there at the Stanford center in 1992. The wall came down in 1990 and reconstruction was
not yet full steam ahead on the eastern portion of Berlin. For
example, Postdamerplatz and the surrounding of Brandenburg Gate
were basically empty in 1992, but now fully built up in 2006.
Allen took a walk from Alexanderplazt (Marien Kirche, Fernseh
Tuerm, etc) on Under Den Linden all the way down to Reichstag.
