4/21/97 to 4/28/97.
We were in Waikiki, Oahu for 4 nights. We went to the
Polynesian Cultural Center for a feast. We took a daylong circle
island tour and took a ride on the overpriced Atlantis Submarine
for an underwater experience. We of course also went to see Pearl
Harbor.
We were then in Kauai for 3 nights. We saw Waimea
Canyon, Fern Grotto, Spouting horn, Dry Cave, Wet Cave.
Beach on the north eastern side of Oahu. (It's name, we think, is
Sandy Beach.)

Peifang on Waikiki Beach.

The indoor waterfall at the Hyatt Regency where we stayed.

Picture just before we got on the Atlantis Submarine. Diamond
Head, extinct volcano tip that defines the Oahu/Waikiki skyline,
was in the background. We could see Diamond Head
and Waikiki beach from our room's Lanai, but Waikiki's rather
noisy for relaxing on the lanai.

Our Lanai in Kauai was decidedly more relaxing than in Waikiki. We
could hear the ocean as we fell asleep at night.

Kauai's Waimea Canyon, the "grand canyon of Hawaii." This was on
the way to the Napali Cliffs where we could see a little of
the coast.
